Andrea R. Lacy Scholarship program

During my first semester at San Jose State University, I baked some brownies for a classmate as a thank you gift for helping me land a job at Hewlett Packard. I had never baked brownies. But, thought I would give it a try. At the time I noticed the dough was thick, but baked the brownies anyway. After I was diagnosed with dyslexia, I revisited the brownie recipe and realized I transposed the recipe without knowing I had dyslexia. I believe some detriments are true blessings in disguise.

My alma mater has presented me with two awards: Outstanding Academic Achievement and Outstanding Alumni. I will always hold a special place in my heart for the university, which changed my life. Luv’s Brownies is a proud two time recipient of the “People’s Choice Best Sweet” dessert award at the International Hospitality Convention.

I started the scholarship program to inspire the next generation of leaders, give back to my community and to make sure that some talented and tenacious young people enjoy the same opportunities I had to attend college and live their dreams.

Every year, our program receives 300+ applicants. To date, we have given out nine scholarships to deserving high school students. Scholarship money may be used for a four-year university, community college, trade or vocational school.

A portion of all of our sales which includes dessert truck, mail order, San Francisco Bay Area deliveries go to our program. A huge shout out to the following companies that contributed to our program:
