Ten years ago Luv’s Brownies’ CEO Aundrea Lacy celebrated her company’s 10th anniversary with a blow-out bash—which benefited the Elton John AIDS Foundation—at Jay Z’s New York 40/40 Club. At the same time in 2006, Lacy also celebrated her “Black Enterprise” cover feature; the sale of the 30,000th copy of her book “Luv Story;” and then impending publication of her second book “Brownie Points.” Though extremely excited about her company’s 20th year milestone, this time Lacy has chosen to celebrate closer to home. On Thursday, August 4th, she’ll commemorate her company’s 20th successful year preparing and marketing her award-winning, heart-shaped brownies in conjunction with a clothing drive to benefit in-need adults.
SAN JOSE, CA: Ten years ago, Luv’s Brownies hosted its—exhilarating, fun, almost overwhelming—10th anniversary celebration at Jay Z’s New York 40/40 Club with numerous A-listers, and proudly displayed a blow-up of her featured Nov. 2006 “Black Enterprise” magazine cover. Now, ten years later, Aundrea Lacy has decided to host a somewhat smaller affair in celebration of her company’s 20th anniversary, and she’ll again use the occasion to benefit others. “My community has supported my business for 20 years. I sincerely appreciate all of the Luv and support,” said Aundrea Lacy CEO & Founder of Luv’s Brownies. “I wanted to give back to my community.”

For a time, San Jose mayor Sam Liccardo will be on hand for the
CLOTHING DRIVE BENEFIT: Luv’s Brownies will be giving out a limited amount of free tickets to the baseball game. Bring a gently used business casual piece of clothing and receive a complimentary Luv’s Brownie. The clothing will be later distributed by “Mission Possible,” Maranatha Christian Center’s community resource center, one of three faith-based organizations that participate in a program of Santa Clara County Mental Health Department aimed at providing faith-based re-entry supports and services to individuals returning to the community and their families. “We are delighted that Ms. Lacy has selected Mission Possible to benefit from her clothing drive states ‘Pastor Tony’ Anthony Williams, senior pastor of San Jose’s Maranatha Christian Center. He further commented, “Our focus is on serving the total man and woman. This includes physical needs, emotional support and spiritual health. Helping those we serve in three basic areas—jobs, housing and family reunification—as well as addressing many other “felt needs.”
ABOUT LUV’S BROWNIES: Aundrea Lacy established Luv’s Brownies in October1996, first preparing her delicious morsels in her home—then in a professional kitchen as sales drew exponentially. The treats are sold through Lacy’s Internet bakery and shipped nationwide. Savory brownie options include milk chocolate chip, butter graham cracker crust, Rocky Road with marshmallow, caramel, almonds and ganache, salted caramel with pecans, almonds & marshmallow and peanut butter. Luv’s Brownies founder is the author of two books. Lacy’s first book “Luv Story: From Homemade Brownies to My Own Internet Bakery” is a resource for anyone who desires to start, promote and sustain his or her own small business, while maintaining a balanced personal life. In “Luv Story” Lacy shares real life experiences, including how she kept her company thriving through an economic downturn and her personal life crises. “Luv Story: From Homemade Brownies to My Own Internet Bakery” sold more than 30,000 copies. Lacy’s second literary effort, “Brownie Points: Lessons for Woman Entrepreneurs from One Who Made It,” is a greatly expanded version of “Luv Story,” one which answers the many questions she had been asked on her speaking engagements by girls and women who were considering starting their own businesses. Without changing her simple and straightforward style, she goes into new detail on important topics like how to launch a new business; starting out while still in school; budgeting and bookkeeping; vertical marketing; advertising and public relations and much more. Every point is illustrated with examples from well-known successful firms and her own personal experiences when building her business.
Ms. Lacy will be glad to chat about Luv’s Brownies, speaking engagements, or perhaps a book signing.
